almotamar.net - Deputy Premier of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zaid Al Nhayan emphasised that any threat to Yemen's security threatens security and stability of the entire region, stressing the necessity of security cooperation between Yemen and the UAE and between Yemen and the Gulf Cooperation Council as one system.
That came during his reception Wednesday evening of Yemen's visiting foreign minister Abubakr al-Qirbi who handed him a written message from President Ali Abdullah Saleh addressed to President of the UAE Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zaid Al Nhayan dealing with enhancement of Yemen's cooperation with the UAE and the GCC states and mechanisms of activating it in line with signed agreements.
During the meeting the Yemeni foreign minister highly valued the UAE support for Yemen in many of political and economic fields.
On the other hand a session of talks was held Wednesday night between the Yemen's foreign minister Dr al-Qirbi and the UAE's foreign minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zaid Al Nhayan that focused on the Yemeni-Emirates relations and Gulf relations in general especially concerning security and strategic cooperation and coordination between Yemen and the GCC states as one system.
The Yemeni foreign minister explained to his UAE counterpart the latest developments in Yemen and both ministers also discussed bilateral relations and ways of strengthening them. Dr Al-Qirbi affirmed Yemen's high evaluation of the UAE's assistance in areas of development, pointing out the importance of completing preparations for holding meetings of the Yemeni-Emirates Joint Committee under chairmanship of the two countries' foreign ministers. Al-Qirbi stressed the necessity of activating the agreement pertaining to Yemeni labour in the UAE and facilitation of the measures of granting visas to Yemeni businessmen and investors. At the conclusion of the meeting al-Qirbi invited the UAE's foreign minister to visit Yemen.
