almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh stressed Saturday the necessity of paying attention to investment and preparing al climates encouraging and attracting investments, pointing to opportunities for investment in Yemen opened by the Investment Opportunities Exploration Conference lately held in Sana'a.
The president added that investment needs stability but regretfully some have pushed the homeland into whirlwinds of demonstrations and sit-ins with the aim of hindering investments and aborting this strategic action in addition to the attempt the homeland's and the citizens missing the opportunity of benefiting from outcomes of those investments which have begun to flow into the country. He said investment means development, providing job opportunities and employment of labour that consequently would curb poverty and achievement of prosperity and progress in the country.
The president said under presence of instability the investors will desist from investing, affirming that the process of investment would go ahead without any stop and would not be hindered by any block.
In a meting he presided over in Aden Saturday on the subject of investment and issues investing the citizens in the governorates of Aden, Abyen, Lahj and Dhalie the president said the practical response to those fabricated tempests would be investment and more attraction of investment, encouragement of investors and offering facilities to investors via the single window, i.e. the Investment Authority.
The president urged all government institutions concerned with investment process to cooperate for pushing forward the investment process in the country, and among those investments in the governorates of Aden, Lahj, Abyen and Dhalie.
On the other hand the president gave his directives to the government to pay attention to operating the container port in Aden in accordance with designed goals and to speed up negotiating with investors and companies willing to manage and operate the port.
The meeting also discussed many topics related to investment and investment projects that are under construction and those licensed ones in the four governorates.
