almotamar.net - The Republic of Yemen has decided to offer it apology for not hosting the 4th Future Forum after the time of its convention exceeded its fixed date that supposed to be last December.
An official source at the Yemeni foreign Ministry said Thursday that when Yemen accepted the hosting of the Forum it was keen that the forum convention in Yemen would form a transfer in the way of the forum's work. The source pointed to success of the ministerial forum for the civil society organisations held in the capital Sana'a at the end of November 2007 and said it represented an important step for enhancing the relation of the governments in the region with civil society organisations.
He source added that as for the ministerial meeting of the Future Forum that was scheduled to be held the beginning of last December, was postponed pursuant to request from some of the G-8 states provided it would be held at a new date to be greed on with Yemen.
The source expressed his regret that Yemen has not up until now received any commitment to a new date from the G-8 and the movement of the G-8 presidency headquarters from German to Japan has created a new problem concerning the joint presidency with Yemen therefore Yemen decided to apologise regarding the hosting of the Forum.
In a statement published Thursday in 26 September newspaper the source said with regard to the Forum convening for the year 2008 and its venue it was supposed to be fixed at the 4th Future forum during its convention in Sana'a. Therefore, the source said, the new presidency has now to conduct contacts with Middle East and North Africa countries so that to agree on the country that would host the future Forum for 2008.
