Culture Undersecretary told almotamar.net Thursday he would take part in the first meeting of the Consultative Council for Arab Knowledge Report in the area of technique, technology, technical culture and education. He explained that the Arab Knowledge Report comes as similar to Report of Human Development prepared by the United Nations annually.

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid had declared the foundation at the World Economic Forum held in the Dead Sea area last May and allotted for it Islamic endowment amounting to $10 billion. The sheikh announced that the newly-established foundation, which is the first of its kind in the Arab and Islamic worlds, would work for spreading awareness, knowledge and science among the Arab and Islamic societies and increasing the number of researchers, students and sent universities, higher institutes and colleges from among sons of the Arab and Islamic nations.

Almotamar Net - Doctors use the word “crisis” to describe the point at which a patient either starts to recover or dies. President George W. Bush’s Iraqi patient now seems to have reached that point. Most commentators appear to think that Bush’s latest prescription – a surge of 20,000 additional troops to suppress the militias in Baghdad – will, at best, merely postpone the inevitable death of his dream of a democratic Iraq. Yet as “Battle of Baghdad” begins, factors beyond Bush’s control and not of his making (at least not intentionally) may just save Iraq from its doom.
