Almotamar Net - Yemeni astronomer Ahmed al-Joububi said Thursday that Yemen and a number of the Gulf States, including Saudi Arabia are to experience a full lunar eclipse at the time of the sunrise on Thursday.

almotamar.net - Yemeni astronomer Ahmed al-Joububi said Thursday that Yemen and a number of the Gulf States, including Saudi Arabia are to experience a full lunar eclipse at the time of the sunrise on Thursday.

Al-Joubi made clear to almotamar.net that the eclipse duration will be for 25 minutes and 27 seconds on west Asia, African continent, Europe, the two Americas and the Atlantic and Pacific oceans on 21 February 2008 at 6:25 am, Sana'a time.

He added the eclipse will begin on the east of the moon at 3:00 are Sana'a time and end at 8:27 am in the morning. According to al-Joubi astronomer dimming of the moon brightness will begin at 3:34 am Sana'a time and the moon will set over Oman, the Emirates and east Iran while it is partially eclipsed.

Al-Joubi pointed out that the total area of the eclipse from its beginning to its end, the full and the partial will amount to 367 million square km.

Most commentators appear to think that Bush’s latest prescription – a surge of 20,000 additional troops to suppress the militias in Baghdad – will, at best, merely postpone the inevitable death of his dream of a democratic Iraq. Yet as “Battle of Baghdad” begins, factors beyond Bush’s control and not of his making (at least not intentionally) may just save Iraq from its doom.
