Almotamar.net - Meetings of the 9th regional course on human rights for the Gulf countries and Yemen begin in Sana'a Thursday. The event is organised by the Yemeni Human Rights Information and Training Centre (HRITC).
Taking part in the course that lasts until 31 of March 2008 are 35 participants from Saudi Arabia, Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and Yemen.
Hritc has been organising such courses since 2000 and it has become of the distinguished activities known by human rights activist in the Arab region and works for graduation of new activists in the area of human rights.
The regional human rights course is considered an excellent opportunity for the exchange of expertise and information between Arab human rights activists and in development of the civil society.
The programme of the course includes training, lectures and workshops on agreements specialised in human rights and international conventions concerned with human rights. Trainings also include monitoring and documentation of human rights violations and training on the International Criminal court.
