Almotamar Net - Yemens Minister for Human Rights Dr Huda al-Ban called on activists of human rights to invest all cultures and available enlightening institutions for being present in the future. Almotamar.net - Yemen's Minister for Human Rights Dr Huda al-Ban called on activists of human rights to invest all cultures and available enlightening institutions for being present in the future. She said the real guarantee for the victory of the message of the human rights is that the civil society becomes an essential dimension in a full project for advancement of the course progress and development and to create channels of mass action communicating the rights messages to the simplest people.

Minister al-Ban, in the opening of the 9th Arab session of human rights organised by the Human Rights for Information and Training Centre (HRITC) on Thursday, affirmed the importance of he meeting that supports the movement of human rights with new activists undertaking the responsibility of the work for enhancing values of human rights in the Arab reality. The Minister said," We hope that all should realise that the basic characteristic of the human rights movement should not make us blind on a fact that there is a qualitative decisive difference of the return of your rights activity between the democratic regimes and the not democratic ones."

The Minister, while defending independence of the Arab movement for human rights from political parties as a guarantee of protection of freedoms and tights of all parties, must call for the creation of a climate of dialogue between active human rights organisations and all political parties for cooperation in all that concerns strengthening the democratic change and respect of the people rights and freedoms. She said that necessitates drawing up right agenda in every Arab country in the light of its special circumstance to contribute to draw essential broad lines.

In his address on the consultative body of the HRITC, the member of the national higher organisation for fighting corruption and the chairman of the civil society sector Izzidin al-Asbahi emphasized the active role the civil society is playing in the Arab region for enhancing values of democracy.

Almotamar Net - Doctors use the word “crisis” to describe the point at which a patient either starts to recover or dies. President George W. Bush’s Iraqi patient now seems to have reached that point. Most commentators appear to think that Bush’s latest prescription – a surge of 20,000 additional troops to suppress the militias in Baghdad – will, at best, merely postpone the inevitable death of his dream of a democratic Iraq. Yet as “Battle of Baghdad” begins, factors beyond Bush’s control and not of his making (at least not intentionally) may just save Iraq from its doom.
