Almotamar.net - Five persons were killed and more than other ten were wounded in an armed attack by unidentified gunmen on worshippers in a mosque in the governorate of Amran, to the north of the capital Sana'a on Friday.
An official source at the local council of Amran province told almotamar.net that security men arrested the attacker of worshippers in the wake of the incident that took place while the victims were performing Friday prayers.
Chief of planning and development committee of Amran local council Majid al-Ghanim confirmed the death of five persons while six wounded persons were taken to hospital in the capital and four others to a hospital in Amran. Those are out of 12 injured, two of them are very seriously injured.
The official pointed out that there was a dispute between the inhabitants of the village, where the incident took place, and the person accused of today's attack but he affirmed that the dispute had been settled previously.
The local council official added that security authorities began interrogation with the suspect Abdullah Saleh Zaid to reveal motives behind the incident.
Mr al-Ghanim has later told almotamar.net about the death of one of the injured persons so that the number of the dead has risen to six persons while another injured person is still in a serious condition.
