Almotamar.net - The General Committee of the General People's Congress (GPC) held Saturday morning presided over by President Ali Abdullah Saleh, the Leader of the Party where it discussed a number of issues on its agenda related to developments inside Yemen. The main of issues were elections of governors, the situations in districts of Saada province and the GPC's vision of dialogue with the opposition Joint Meeting Parties (JMP).
The meeting lauded results of provinces governors elections, the great success they achieved and the interaction and enthusiasm of the elector colleges and among he masses of the people.
The General Committee meeting affirmed that that democratic step was an embodiment of loyalty to promises and translation of the election platform of the President of the Republic and in the manner that enhances the democratic experiment and expansion of the people' participation in managing local affairs.
The General Committee got acquainted with the latest developments of the situations in some districts of Saada governorate and efforts of the state to contain the insurgency ignited by the terrorist al-Houthi and his followers as well as the measures taken for the establishment of security and peace in those districts.
The Committee reiterated its condemnation the terrorist acts and sabotage and killing of citizens and members of armed forces and security, blocking roads and destabilization of security stability and public peace perpetrated by them in addition to their rejection of all efforts for preservation of bloodshed.
The meeting p [raised al the efforts exerted by the state for ending the sedition and the spread of the authority of law and order out of its national and constitutional responsibility.
The General Committee of the GPC also praised the heroic performance of the armed forces and security in addition to the citizens in confrontation of insurgent elements that aim to return the Imamate regime and spread of dark ideas that intend to turn back the wheel of history.
The Committee also stressed the importance that all sons of the homeland with all their political and social activities should align in confronting all the destructive calls aimed at instigating sedition and disturb the public peace in the society.
The GPC General Committee also studied the working paper presented by the GPC on its vision of the dialogue with the JMP and which comes in response by the GPC to the call of President Ali Abdullah Saleh in his speech on the 22nd of May, the 18th National Day of the Yemeni Republic, in which he called on al Yemeni political forces to adopt dialogue as an ideal civilized means within the framework of committing to the constitution and operative laws.
The GPC General Committee affirmed the GPC's keenness on the constructive dialogue on all that concerns the homeland and serves the higher public interest, and that is out of its sense of national responsibility and realization that the responsibility of building the country is that of the all, individuals, political parties and civil society organisations.
The meeting also discussed a number of issues on its agenda and took suitable decisions about them.
