Almotamar.net - Signs of dissension have begun emerging inside the Yemeni Congregation for Reform (Islah) party over the declaration of the so-called the forum of Vice and Virtue established by legal scholars affiliate of the Islah.

Reliable sources have mentioned Thursday that undeclared conflicts is going on between the liberal wing of the party led by the Higher Body of the party Mohammed Qahtan and the hardliner wing led by Hamoud Hashimn al-Tharihi, member of the Party's Higher Body, who is behind the establishment of the said forum and tries through it to regain control of hardliners over drafting the political decision of the party.

Sources point out that that instructions were given to Islah liberal leaderships in the governorate to sack those that support the Virtue Forum under orders from the former head of the political office, the member of the Higher Body of the party Mohammed Qahtan.

The sources also mentioned that disagreements emerged in branches of the party in districts of the Al-Dhalie governorate and the Executive Bureau in the governorate because the branches did not respond to instructions of the Bureau , the latest of which was from the Vice and Virtue Forum. The sources said head of the Islah party branch and chairman of the shoura council in Damt, Dhalie governorate were discharged during an extraordinary meeting held on Sunday. According to al-Isbou newspaper for today two other persons from the liberal wing were elected to replace the sacked ones.

Almotamar Net - Doctors use the word “crisis” to describe the point at which a patient either starts to recover or dies. President George W. Bush’s Iraqi patient now seems to have reached that point. Most commentators appear to think that Bush’s latest prescription – a surge of 20,000 additional troops to suppress the militias in Baghdad – will, at best, merely postpone the inevitable death of his dream of a democratic Iraq. Yet as “Battle of Baghdad” begins, factors beyond Bush’s control and not of his making (at least not intentionally) may just save Iraq from its doom.
