Almotamar.net, Saba - President Ali Abdullah Saleh chaired Monday a meeting of the National Defense Council (NDC) attended by a number of military and security leaders. The NDC discussed peace efforts in Saada governorate after president's decision to stop military operations for deterring rebellion and sabotage acts in some districts of the governorate.
The council that reviewed reconstruction plan and resuming development projects in Saada called on rebellion elements to be committed to ending carrying arms phenomenon and to the constitution and law.
The council called on brotherly and friendly countries to contribute in reconstruction process in the governorate.
The council also discussed security situations and results of specific operations carried out by security apparatus and military forces in cracking down on terrorist cells' nests and success of destroying one of al-Qaeda's cells in Hadramout governorate.
Saleh expressed thanks to all security affiliates and citizens for defending the revolution, the republic and the unity as well as for conditioning suitable climates for continuing development wheel in different country's areas.
He argued leaderships of defense and interior ministry and security apparatus to improve performance of military and security forces to be able to carry on shoulders their national and constitutional responsibilities.
