Almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh received Wednesday Arab delegations taking part in the 5th session of the Executive Council and General Secretariat of the Arab Federation of workers in transport and communications held in Yemen on 20-22 of August 2008.
The President welcomed heads and members of the Arab participating delegations, expressing his wishes of success for their meetings and that they would result in active resolutions serving trade unionist work in the Arab world reflected on development and progress for all Arab peoples.
The President affirmed his stance supporting trade unionist and workers movements which he described as the essential element for development. In his address to the delegations he said he support Arab workers and urges them for more of communication for the enhancement of unity of trade unions and workers because that is the gate for comprehensive Arab unity.
President Salh said the European Union has been accomplished and has become a reality despite the difference in languages, differences and historical conflicts that used to be among them. He said it is more appropriate that the Arab countries unite gradually until reaching comprehensive unity as they have religious, historical and geographical ties and similar habits and traditions and "you in this regard represent a basic brick in the unity structure."
Chairman of the General Federation of Trade Unions ins in Yemen had given an address in which he expressed his thanking and gratitude in his name and on behalf of the Arab delegations, taking part in the conference, to the president for providing the opportunity of meeting him and listening to their issues.
