Almotamar.net - Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and External relations at the General People's Congress (GPC) Sultan al-Barakani has on Thursday ridiculed content of the statement issued by the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) on Wednesday that contained many prevarications and falsification of the facts as well as the continuation in the attempt to mislead the public opinion.

In his statements to a,motamar.net al-Barakani said the JMP has been using the same story of excluding it , forgetting that its parties are those that seek to impede the political life and not to hold elections on their date and to back down from all commitments and documents that have been already signed. That stance of the JMP can be traced as beginning from the agreement of principles and passing by the document on issues and controls of the dialogue and ending with disrespect of what has been lately agreed on concerning the law of elections and formation of the elections supreme commission through their non-commitment to recommendations of the European Union or presentation of the names of their members in the elections commission.

Al-Barakani has further said," We wonder the JMP's repletion of the same story of violating the constitution, the laws and the parliament regulation and work of the elections supreme commission without naming a certain text from the constitution or the laws or the regulation so that it can be replied to that clearly or to discuss it but the JMP as it is accustomed tries to efface the features of the fact and deceive he public opinion."

He said," We would have hoped the JMP to shoulder its political responsibilities; first by respecting institutions and secondly by the serious participation at the political and electoral levels as parties working in the arena instead of the triviality that we continuously hear and the of falsifying the consciousness of the citizens and lying to them or holding secret negotiations for striking deals and achieving self interests. "

The assistant secretary general reaffirmed that the people have spelled out their stance concerning what the JMP allege to be reforms project and that was in the presidential and local elections in 2006. The people had voted for and granted their confidence to the platform of President Ali Abdullah Saleh and that has become the platform of the people.
