Almotamar Net - A delegation representing the Yemeni Finance Ministry started Tuesday a visit to Lebanon to study the projects for reforms carried out by the Lebanese Finance Ministry , among them modernization of administration of public spending and taxation administration. Almotamar.net - A delegation representing the Yemeni Finance Ministry started Tuesday a visit to Lebanon to study the projects for reforms carried out by the Lebanese Finance Ministry , among them modernization of administration of public spending and taxation administration.

Basil Falihan Financial Institute has prepared for the delegation a programme for three day in this regard.

The visit is part of the consultative services the Institute offers to the Yemeni Finance Ministry as part of a project for improving performance and transparency and accountability.

The visit is organised by the project of the strategy of reforming management of public finance ate the Yemeni Finance Ministry under funding of the UN Development Programme , the British department for international development and the government of Holland.

The delegation also discuses the importance of training in keeping up with reformative projects and the role the Finance Institute played in achieving change inside the administration.

Further more Lebanese officials would get acquainted with the Yemeni Finance Ministry and it is expected that a team from experts of Basil Falihan Institute to visit Yemen later for exchange of expertise.

Almotamar Net - Doctors use the word “crisis” to describe the point at which a patient either starts to recover or dies. President George W. Bush’s Iraqi patient now seems to have reached that point. Most commentators appear to think that Bush’s latest prescription – a surge of 20,000 additional troops to suppress the militias in Baghdad – will, at best, merely postpone the inevitable death of his dream of a democratic Iraq. Yet as “Battle of Baghdad” begins, factors beyond Bush’s control and not of his making (at least not intentionally) may just save Iraq from its doom.
