Almotamar.net - Sana'a, Oct. 16- Chairman of Federation Council of Russian Federal Assembly Sergei Mironov said Thursday a Russian warship will arrive at Aden seaport soon to assist fighting piracy and liberation of the Ukraine ship held by pirates off Somali coastlines if the situation required.

The Russian official who is currently on a visit to Yemen denounced, in a joint press conference he held here today with Chairman of Yemen Shoura Council Abdulaziz Abdulghani , the acts of piracy in the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean, calling for supporting countries of the region to confront the phenomenon of piracy.

Mr Mironov also pointed out that his meetings on Thursday with senior officials in Yemen confirmed that the relations of the two countries are based on firm base and they have to define the ways for developing them, he displayed his personal and the Federal Assembly readiness to contribute to develop these relations.
He also affirmed Federal Russia interest in developing economic and investment relations especially in oil and gas and the infrastructure, expressing his belief that the protocol of cooperation signed by the two councils would contribute to future development of the relations between the two countries.

The Chairman of the Shoura Council Abdulghani has begun the press conference in welcoming the Russian guest describing this day of his visit as a fruitful working day when the Russian official met senior Yemeni officials particularly president Ali Abdullah Saleh .

Abdulghani said, " During today's meeting we have reiterated emphasis on the importance of developing the firm relations and the joint cooperation in parliamentary, trade, economic and investment areas, " saying that they signed a protocol for cooperation between the two councils outlining the general frame of relations between them and contributes to enhance the two councils' role in serving interests of the two countries. He concluded in his address that the Yemeni Russian relations are at their apex and in their best.

A meeting of talks was held in Sana'a on Thursday between the Yemeni Shoura Council and the Russian Federal Assembly co-chaired by Chairman of the Shoura Council Abdulaziz Abdulghani and the Russian Chairman of the Federation Council of Russian Federal Assembly Sergei Mironov.
