Almotamar.net - Official sources said that president Ali Abdullah Saleh assigned his political advisor Dr Abdulkarim al-Eryany to hold contacts with leaderships of the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) and to submit to them a number of ideas. the sources affirmed keenness of the President on surmounting any differences or varied stances between the political forces in the national arena and the importance of all participation in the democratic action and taking part in the upcoming parliamentary elections in their fixed date as they are considered as constitutional and democratic right concerns all in the homeland.

According to the Yemeni news agency Saba those ideas included the following steps:
-the government should take measures with the parliament for voting on the draft amendments of the elections and referendum law in line with what had been agreed between the political parties and forces , conducting amendment in the law about formation of the Supreme Commission for Elections and Referendum (SCER) so as to increase its members to 11 instead of 9.
-two persons to be added to the SCER; one of them representing the JMP and the other represents parties of the Opposition National Council.
-keeping the present committees of registration formed from employees of the education sector so that to carry out their duties of revising and correcting voter records.
-formation of the electoral committee for the stage of nomination and voting according to what happened in elections of the year 2006.
