Almotamar.net - Vice-President Abid Rabu Mansour Hadi on Thursday visited operation site of Total company of oil production in block 10 in Hadramout Hadi was accompanied by governor of Hadramout and Assistant governor and Assistant deputy of the governorate. The aim of the visit was to get acquainted with the nature of work there and the inauguration of building the new pipeline for meeting the increasing production in this block.
The vice president was received at the site by the minister of electricity and energy Awadh al-Saqtari , oil and minerals undersecretary Abdulmalik Alama , director general of Total company, deputy director general of gas establishment Najib al-Aouj and deputy of the oil production authority Thabit Abbas and the engineer in charge in the block.
Director of the company and specialized engineers presented explanations on the new pipelines for separating liquefied gas from oil to be used in power generating from gas that would lead to the area’s benefit from providing power to meet requirements of construction and development as the electric energy represents a basis for any development and investment.
It had been agreed during the vice president visit last August to study the possibility of benefiting from the gas accompanying oil that is estimated at about 30 thousand cubic feet daily.
The vice president of the republic then visited the site where to build the power station and installation of storage and pipes, listening to the technical remarks from the site engineer.
Meanwhile the vice president held a meeting with the Yemeni oil minister and senior officials at the ministry, attended by the director of Total company and the engineer in charge.
The meeting discussed the program of changing the gas accompanying oil production to a liquefied state to be used in power generation. Vice president Hadi expressed his great appreciation for Total company for carrying out the agreed on program since last year. Today the company finished connecting the new pipeline for carrying 50 thousand barrels per day to rise to 60 thousand bpd I the last quarter of this year. It ha also built the technical foundation for separating gas for generating power estimated at 50 megawatt.
The vice president asked the ministries of electricity and energy and oil and minerals and the director of Total company and representative of Al-Jazeera company to work for solving the technical problem and offer the final suggestion within ten days.
