Almotamar.net - Chairman of the Supreme National Anti-Corruption Commission SNACC in Yemen said support of civil society organisations in enhancement of transparency and accountability would enable the Commission to perform an actual role that can put an end to dangerous deviations, whether during planning for the state budget or during the implementation.
Those remarks he has made on Saturday in opening the workshop on role of the civil society in enhancement of transparency and accountability in managing the state budget, organised by the SNACC in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme NDI where 30 persons from five civil society organisations are receiving training.
SNACC chairman Ahmed al-Anisi indicated about other steps following this one for the creation of an environment preventive of corruption and raising the efficiency of performance and exchange of information in the manner realising monitoring of the resources, follow-up and rectification in preparing and carrying out of the budget and strengthening the spirit of accountability.
For his part the member of the SNACC Izzidin al-Asbahi said this pregame confirms the partnership f the media, the civil society, local councils and the official institutions.
In a press release obtained by almotamar.net, al-Asbahi added the importance of the programme lies in building a bridge of cooperation between the media, the local councils and the civil society for enhancement of transparency.
The regional director of the NDI said the project fort supporting transparency and accountability comes in implementation of the UN programme related to development of the civil society capabilities in monitoring the public resources.
