Almotamar.net - Head of the Information Office at the General People's Congress GPC Tareq al-Shamy on Tuesday considered what was stated by secretary general of the Yemen Socialist Party YSP Dr Yassin Saeed Nouman as coming under theorization that all are used to hear from Dr Yassin which is so far from practical reality and from ambitions and aspirations of the citizens.
Mr al-Shamy also wondered about denial of Dr Yassin concerning putting new conditions for the dialogue by the Joint Meeting Parties JMP. He has added that al know there is an agreement between the GPC and the and parties of the JMP that included three issues pertaining to the dialogue on amendments of elections law, development of the political and electoral system and the supreme commission for elections. According to that agreement the term of the parliament was extended for two years and parliamentary elections were postponed. It was agreed that dialogue would be continued after conducting constitutional amendments by the parliament. Despite the repeated calls by the GPC on the JMP to sit at the dialogue table but those were not responded , on the contrary the JMP went farther in on putting new conditions having no relation to the issues agreed on and that is just to evade from what had been agreed on.
Al-Shamy put forward a question to Dr Yassin on the side that creates crises in some areas in the eastern and southern governorates of Yemen. Are those who block roads, plunder public and private property, kill people, instigate sedition, spread hatred, attack armed forces and security men and target the unity? Are they the elected local authorities that perform their powers in keeping security and stability and protecting the national unity? Are the members of the YSP and others from members of the JMP not subjected to the constitution and the law to the extent they have the right to practice acts violating the law and not held accountable by the law? Or are those acts come under the peaceful struggle? He queried if acts of killing and plundering are peaceful struggle so what then are the non-peaceful acts?
Al-Shamy added that since after the latest presidential and local elections, leaderships of the JMP, at the forefront of which Dr Yassin, talk about a vision of the JMP and are incapable of presenting anything practical. If the JMP has a national vision let it present at the dialogue table instead of resorting to ways of political outbidding and wrangling and fomenting sedition as well as defending acts and practices violating the law.
