almotamar.net - Minister of Information in Yemen Hassan al-Lawzi said Tuesday that report on performance of the government programme has reflected a big development in many of government sectors by an average of 70.06% in the percentage of accomplishment of the projects scheduled to implement during the year 2008.
In his press conference held today after the Yemeni cabinet meeting the minister said sectors of works, transport, information and health represented outstanding among the successful projects in percentage of accomplishment, pointing out that the presidential platform has achieved success rate in performance attaining 31% during the period 2007-2008.
The minister added that there is a steady progress in implementing content of the presidential platform by the government with regard to carrying out the 16 premises included in the platform. Concerning success in economic performance it reached at 66%, in infrastructure 78%, general management by 66%, human resources 72% and social and human development by 55%.
Mr al-Lawzi made it clear that the performance report has been approved by the cabinet in principle after its discussion and the ministers who have remarks were asked to present them to the cabinet's general secretariat for study and approval.
The minister added that the cabinet meeting has considered many executive decisions and got informed on reports on meetings of the Yemeni-Bahraini ministerial joint committee. The report also included reference to signing a number of memos related to cooperation and coordination between the two countries foreign ministries in addition to the report on the Yemeni-Korean joint ministerial committee that resulted in the present session the signing of understanding memorandum on health aspects, buying medical supplies from Korea, agricultural cooperation, higher education and scientific research.
The cabinet meeting also listened to a report on the swine flu and discussed arrangements that must be taken regarding the pilgrimage season.
