Almotamar.net - Yemen's Foreign Minister Dr Abu-Bakr al-Qirbi affirmed that the elements of rebellion in Saada province compelled the government to resort to the option of armed confrontation as a result of their continuation in committing outrageous destructive and criminal acts against the citizens.
In his meeting on Thursday with ambassadors of Arab and Islamic countries , countries of the European Union and representatives of UN Security Council permanent member states , the UN resident representative in Sana'a and representative of the European Mission in Yemen, al-Qirbi said demand of the Yemeni public opinion for putting an end to this sedition and imposing the state control and its sovereignty compelled the government to undertake its constitutional duties to put an end to this destruction and criminal acts of the elements of rebellion.
The minister added in addition to that the rebels block roads, destroy and plunder public and private establishments and the attempt of expanding the scope of the rebellion in other areas inside and outside of Saada province.
Al-Qirbi pointed to keenness of the government on protecting the innocent citizens and migrants from threats of elements of destruction and their criminal acts, clarifying that the government would offer all facilities to international and humanitarian organisations to convey their assistance to the affected migrants due to the sedition.
The Foreign Minister had discussed with the ambassadors developments of the situations in the region and informed them on developments of the situations in Saada province and the Yemeni arena.
In press statements on Thursday al-Qirbi affirmed that the international community especially the Arab and European countries to show understanding for the government measures for protecting security and stability of Yemen as part of the regional and international security.
Al-Qirbi said those countries were expecting that the elements of destruction and rebellion take advantage from the opportunity given to them after stopping the military operations in July 2008 under directives of president Ali Abdullah Saleh so that to stop violence and accept the peace initiative and put down arms but they continued their tampering with the country's security and did not listen to the voice of reason and peace.
