Almotamar.net - An official military source has on Sunday confirmed the killing of one of the leaders of the Houthi elements of destruction and rebellion in the area of Maath, Saada province, north of Yemen.

The source said Ahmed Jiran was killed in confrontation with troops of the armed forces and the security in the area of Bani Maath. He is one of the Houthi leaderships of destruction and specialized in fixing land mines and explosives.

The source added that military and security units have developed their attacks with new tactics against elements of insurgency, inflicting heavy losses on them in many areas at the time the air force dealt direct and effective strikes on hideouts of the Houthi elements of rebellion and terror in areas of Saqim, Yanam, Sudan, Al-Anad and Mran in Saada.

The source made it clear that army and security units destroyed a number of transport means and weapons of the rebels and pounded their positions and cleared a number of farms and places where they were stationed. The troops also destroyed a number of rebels positions in a fortified area in addition to bombarding terrorists gatherings in Majdaa, Al-Dhahra and gathering of Shatha, Roun and Tiyat al-Matalah.
