Almotamar.net - The Specialised Criminal Court in Yemen on Sunday began its first session for the prosecution of Yahya Badrudin al-Houthi. The court was held under chairmanship of Judge Muhsin Alwan, Head of the Penal Court and attended by General Prosecutor Saeed al-A'aqil who said it has been published about the defendant in several countries and via the Interpol.
In the court session for today the Prosecution accused the escapee Yahya Badrudin al-Houthi that during the period 2004-2009 he has participated in a terrorist armed group and led it for perpetrating criminal acts in a number of Yemen areas and the capital via preparing weapons, ammunition and explosives and means of transport and communications devices.
Head of the prosecution clarified that the defendant worked for mobilization of small-aged youths and instructing them on how to form secret cells , gave his instructions for lowering the republic flag from government institutions and replacing it by the yellow flag, replacing the republic slogans by slogans of death to America and death to Israel, dismissing children from schools, instructions for forming armed militias , procurement of weapons, used his house in Jiraf area in the capital for holding meetings with foreign and social delegations , contacted foreign countries and hostile personalities for the purpose of harming the political status of the republic , instigated for not paying the Zakat, , led 10 activities in the capital and Amran province and Saada, led two terrorist cells and criminal acts in Bani Husheish, Saada and Amran.
The court considered Yahya al-Houthi as an escapee from justice and decided to retain lawyer Yasser al-Sharjabi as his defence lawyer and postponed the trial until the 2nd of next November.
