Almotamar.net - The Specialized Criminal Court in Yemen ruled on Saturday the death sentences against 8 and imprisonment of 13 from members of the al-Houthi two gangs of terror and sabotage in Bani Husheish.
The verdict issued by the court stipulated the execution of the two defendants Maqeet Qassim al-Aghrabi and Abdulhamid Mohammed al-Mazihi. The sentences issued by the Judge Radwan al-Nimr, Head of the Court, stipulated also the imprisonment of Mohammed Saleh al-Aghrabi, Rassam Ali al-A'aqil, Mohammed Abdullah al-Kibsi and Faez Mohammed Hussein Musaed for 12 years in jail to each of them. The sentence also stipulated the imprisonment of Taha Hussein Ali Humadi for 8 years and the imprisonment of defendant Jamal Mohammed al-Aghrabi for 5 years.
The court acquitted two of the defendants for the lack of criminal responsibility due to their mental disease at the time of committing the crime and ordered to be sent to a mental diseases hospital until they recover from their illness.
Meanwhile the court decided the death sentence against six other defendants from the group 7 of al-Houthi gang of terrorism and sabotage in Bani Husheish , namely, Mohammed Saleh al-Aghrabi, Huzam Ali Huzam al-Hanami, Samih Abdulrahman al-Shami, al-Hussein Ahsan Ali al-Arkadeh, Jamal Hamid Sarhan al-Aghrabi and Faez Ali Nasser al-Hanami.
The sentence also stipulated 12 years in jail to each of defendants Abdullah Ali Rajih al-Hamadani, Mohammed Ahmed Saleh al-A'aqil, A'aqil Ali Saleh al-A'aqil, Saleh Amer Saleh al-Zubairi and Abdullah Abdullah Mohammed Farie al-Aghrabi.
The Specialized Criminal Prosecution had charged the defendants in the 2nd group in their trial on 12 April 2009 in its indictment of their participation in an armed gang during the year 2008 in implementation of a collective criminal scheme. They had prepared their plans for committing acts of killing and destruction and following the way of violence and exposure of the society safety and security to danger. They had prepared for that plot heavy and light weapons, ammunition, rockets and explosives. They gathered money for that purpose, prepared positions and dug barricades inside and around the district of Bani Husheish. The prosecution held the defendants responsible for killing and wounding a large number of army and security men, citizens, women and children in addition to destruction, blasting and seizing a number of military vehicles and equipment.
