Almotamar.net - The United Kingdom ambassador to Yemen has renewed emphasis on his country’s stand in support of Yemen’s unity and stability, affirming that supporting Yemen’s unity, stability and flourishing are among priorities of the British government and people.
In a meeting with leaderships of he General People’s Congress (GPC) in Hadramout on Monday the British ambassador stressed the importance of solving the problems and difficulties from which Yemen is suffering.
Head of the GPC branch of Hadramout Awadh Abdullah Hatem has met on Monday the British ambassador Tim Torlot and the first secretary at the British embassy.
The GPC official Hatem thanked the UK interest in Yemen unity and stability and its support for development of Yemen economically and developmentally and the support for the Yemeni democratic experience and its electoral practice. He pointed to the sponsorship by UK of the meeting held in London for assisting Yemen in combating terror and supporting it economically.
Mr Hatem reviewed the democratic experience in Yemen and the efforts of the political leadership represented by President Ali Abdullah Saleh for the reforming of the political system and pushing forward the process of development, he has also pointed out the efforts exerted by the GPC by launching many initiatives and concessions for dialogue and participation of parties in the political process and putting them before their responsibilities as political parties and elite.
For his part the British ambassador expressed his happiness for visiting Hadramout thanking the Hadramout GPC leaderships for the meeting.
