Almotamar.net - Foreign Ministers of the Sana’a Forum for Cooperation have Sunday confirmed support of their countries for the Yemen’s unity and stability. in opening the 12th meeting of the executive committee of the Forum Countries held in Sana’a Sunday , the ministers stressed the necessity of transferring the level of cooperation among the Forum’s states to spacious horizons serving interests of peoples and countries of the Forum’ member states.
The Ethiopian Foreign Minister Seyoum Mesfin expressed in his speech at the meeting his admiration of and confidence in the wise leadership of President Ali Abdullah Saleh in confronting the internal and external challenges facing Yemen.
Minister Mesfin also affirmed his country’s stand by Yemen’s unity and satiability, wishing for the President and Yemen more progress and flourishing.
The Ethiopian FM said the Forum began with great enthusiasm and realization by all of its member states hat cooperation among them has common interest, indicating that the Forum countries pledged the respect of peace and stability in the region, the Horn of Africa and south area of the Red Sea.
The minister said the Forum states had focused in the beginning on security issues as the security, peace and stability are necessity for guaranteeing cooperation in areas of development areas.
The Djibouti FM Mahmoud Ali Youssef affirmed on his part his country’s commitment to support Yemen’s unity, security and stability, expressing his congratulations on the General people’s Congress party and Joint Meeting Parties signing of minutes on mechanisms of national dialogue that constitutes a big national gain and victory for the principle of dialogue and truthfulness in shouldering the national responsibility.
The minister also called for offering support to the Somali transitional government under leadership of President Sherif Sheikh Ahmed and to enhance efforts of the Somali reconciliation in the manner contributing in finding radical and comprehensive solution of the Somali issue.
For his part the Sudanese Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Kamal el-Din Hassan praised the creative initiatives of President Ali Abdullah Saleh aimed to finding suitable solutions of the problems of Yemen and his giving priority to the logic of dialogue among factions and creation of factors of stability and preparation of atmospheres enabling the launch of useful dialogue leading to the protection of Yemen’s unity and peace.
The Sudanese minister also called on the international community to support the efforts aimed at establishment of peace in Somalia, praising the Yemeni efforts in curbing the phenomenon of sea piracy.
The Sudanese official also affirmed commitment of the Sudanese government to steady effort for the implementation of the peace agreement signed with the brothers in south Sudan in 2005.
The Somali FM Youssef Ahmed Ibrahim congratulated, on behalf of his country, President Ali Abdullah Saleh for the steps he has taken for preservation of gains of the Yemeni unity and solving the problems by dialogue.
Minister Ibrahim said Somalia recognizes the stand of the Forum’s states by the people of Somalia in their ordeal and hopes for more efforts. He added that the greatest challenge facing Somalia is the presence of extremist groups launching ferocious war on the Somali government and try to carry out foreign agenda and they refuse all calls of the Somali government for dialogue and reconciliation.
Commenting on speeches delivered by the Forum’s states foreign ministers, the Yemeni Foreign Minister Dr Abu Bakr al-Qirbi affirmed that the speeches of the ministers have borne assurances on situations of the Forum countries and the successes achieved in the process of democracy, the latest of which were the elections in Ethiopia and Sudan and would be crowned in Yemen in the upcoming parliamentary elections in April next year.
