Almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh met in the Libyan city of Sirte Sunday with a number of Arab and African presidents and leaders on the sidelines of the second Arab-African summit.
In this regard the Yemeni President met the
Eritrean President Isaias Afewerki issues in the agenda of the 2nd Arab-African summit being held on Sunday in the Libyan city of Sirte.
Saleh and Afewerki discussed a strategic project of Arab-African partnership and the Arab-African joint action plan for 2011 – 2016.
The two Presidents discussed a draft resolution of establishing an Arab-African fund to encounter disasters in addition to the outcomes of extraordinary Arab summit concluded Saturday in Sirte city.
Saleh and Afewerki reviewed the bilateral relations and aspects of joint cooperation.
Meanwhile, the President discussed, in a meeting with the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed al-Jaber, bilateral relations ands ways of enhancing and developing them in addition to discussion of results of the Arab extraordinary summit held in Sirte on Saturday as well as the topics on the agenda of the second Arab-African summit held in Sirte today.
President Saleh has also received the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and discussed with him relations of cooperation and ways of developing and enhancing them in addition to results of the extraordinary Arab summit.
On the other hand and on the sidelines of the 2nd Arab-African summit presently convened in Libyan city Sirte, president Saleh held meetings Presidents of each of Central Africa Republic, Zambia, and Zimbabwe and Vice-President of South Africa respectively.
The meetings discussed bilateral relations and areas of cooperation with those countries in addition to issues on the agenda of the Arab-African summit , among them a raft strategy of the African Arab partnership , plan of the Joint African Arab Action for the years 2011-2016, a draft resolution on the establishment of the Joint African-Arab fund for encountering disasters , the Sirte Declaration and ways of activating the Arab-African Joint action in serving aspirations of the Arab and African peoples.
