Almotamar.net - The Yemeni Minster of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr Saleh Ali Basura held a meeting on Thursday with his Malaysian counterpart Datu Siri Mohammed Khalid Nuridin. The two sides discussed ways of enhancing bilateral relations of the two in the area of higher education and scientific research. Dr Basura had shown readiness of hid ministry for facilities to enable any Malaysian university to open its branch in Yemen in addition to organizing scientific exhibitions in the Malaysian and Yemeni universities.
Basura added the relations with Malaysian universities should not be confined to just sending students in scholarships but rather the exchange of visiting professions , organizational programmes and jaunt researches , especially in information technology in addition to exchange of expertise and scientific publications and benefiting from Malaysian expertise.
For his part the Malaysian minister of higher education welcomed Dr Basura and his accompanying delegation, confirming the Yemeni-Malaysian relations exceed the relations in education area.
He affirmed that his ministry would take practical steps for solving all the problems facing the Yemeni students in Malaysia. The Malaysian mister pointed out that his ministry was keen on enrollment of foreign students in the Malaysian distinguished Universities, stressing the necessity of activating the academic agreements between the Yemeni and Malaysian universities.
