Almotamar.net - The Yemeni Foreign Minister (FM) Dr Abu Bakr al-Qirbi revealed Saturday that the official statistics with the Yemeni security bodies mention that the number of al-Qaeda organisation on the Yemeni territories amounts to 400 persons, among hem Saudis and they follow their plots aimed at instigating chaos and destruction in a number of his country’s areas.

In a telephone interview with Al-Hayat newspaper on Saturday, al-Qirbi said despite the terrorist operations that occurred in his country in the past period, the situations could be described as stable as the security apparatuses are continuing in chasing those criminal gangs to expel them and tighten the grip on them and every now and then they endeavor to activate their acts in separate areas.

The Yemeni FM said, “ What regrets us much is the question of he media outlets exaggeration presence of al-Qaeda elements in Yemen , picturing the country other than its real image and making al-Qaeda as capable of creating conditions of instability and able to impede any security situations or commercial or economic activities , and that is untrue categorically . “ the FM added that al-Qaeda organization follows a certain way with the crimes which it has been committing in a number of countries such as Iraq, Algeria and other countries by these same operations.

He added, “All must know that Yemen’s situation is not more dangerous than the other countries that have presence of al-Qaeda elements on their territories, among them Gulf countries and others are European. At the present they made Yemen an arena for confrontations. As they have lost those confrontations in other countries, they will lose here and we assure the Arab Gulf states that the situations are stable in our country. “

The Yemeni FM emphasized that the security cooperation between Riyadh and Sana’a in the file of terrorism was moving the perfect way and had for many times resulted in dealing painful blows to elements of the organisation.

On the idea of foreign forces presence to keep security and chase al-Qaeda in Yemen, al-Qirbi said, “The question of foreign troops presence on the Yemen territory would never solve the problem of al-Qaeda and nor keeping security because this is the question of the state itself and the Yemeni people are sticking to put an end to the al-Qaeda.”

On Yemen hosting of Gulf 20 Championship of football, under the tensed situations his country is witnessing, the Yemeni FM sais, “We are sticking to hosting, organizing and keep peace of it and our security preparations are full and able to protect the sport installations and the teams taking part in it and security plans have been drawn up for that. “
