Almotamar.net - President Saleh al-Sammad called the United Nations security council to stop Saudi-led barbaric aggression and blockade on Yemen, in a letter sent to the UN late on Saturday.
In the letter, the president detailed brutal and inhumane crimes committed by the Saudi-led barbaric coalition during 18 months of aggression against the Yemen people, including last week cruel air attacks on a funeral in the capital Sanaa that killed and injured over 700 civilian mourners, which violate the international humanitarian laws.

"The stance of the UN Security Council and the United Nations on this brutal and barbaric aggression without taking any decision against the aggressors is raising question and surprise as it's contrary to the duties of the United Nations Organization and the Security Council," said the president.

"Especially this aggression has been accompanied since the beginning with a comprehensive and unjust air, sea and land blockade that deprived the Yemeni people from food and medical supplies, as well as the closure of the Yemeni air traffic and prevent civil aviation flights from coming or leaving Sanaa," the president added.

The president said that the aggression and the all-out blockade have increased the Yemeni people's suffering, particularly the sick and those in need of treatment outside Yemen, as well as the prevention of more than twenty thousand Yemeni citizen stranded in countries around the world to return to their homeland.

"We are talking to you in the name of humanitarian conscience, we are talking to your duties that you have committed to implement and bear responsibility during your job in the United Nations, we are talking to you to take a decisive resolution to stop the Saudi aggression's massacres on the Yemeni people without any right," the president said.
