Former President of the Republic of Yemen, president of the General Peoples Congress, strongman Ali Abdullah Saleh congratulated the Yemeni people on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the independence day, when Yemen got freedom from Britain in 30th November 1967, calling the nation to move forward for more and more victories.

Salehs congratulation came in a speech to the nation late on Tuesday on the eve of the independence day.

Saleh's congratulation came in a speech to the nation late on Tuesday on the eve of the independence day.

"In the occasion of this great day, I would like to salute you our people, men, women, youth and elders, and through you, I would like to extend my solute to the heroes of the army, security and popular forces who are in front lines on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the independence day, leader Saleh said, calling the nation to move forward for more and more victories.

"We are in this glorious independence Eid affirm our faith on the ability of our great people to defeat the forces of aggression and their local mercenaries with iron will, as Saudi aggression before was defeated on the glorious 26th September Revolution, on the glorious 14th October Revolution in 1960s after a fierce struggle with blood and sacrifices that eventually triumphed and get the national will wins," leader Saleh said.

Leader Saleh called the people to keep confronting the foreign aggression and rise the national flags of our national liberation days fluttering in the breeze over our heads.
