By: Anwar Haidar - SANA’A- The Higher Museums and Manuscripts Authority (HMMA) received 660 antiquities seized by security authorities at Sana’a International Airport. General Director of the HMMA Hisham al-Thawr stated the antiquities were seized at Sana’a Airport during the second half of 2005 till now.
According to al-Thawr, of the restored antiquities, 300 include coins that date back to pre-Islamic period as well as sculptures made of bronze. The antiquities are to be sent to the national museums after documenting them, he added.
