By Nasser Arrabyee - A total of 300 al-Houthi supporters were released over the last week and arrangements are being made to release the rest of the detainees in a bid to close the file on the Sadaa crisis, local sources said Thursday. The security authorities released over the past week about 300 prisoners connected to the al-Houthi issue, and arrangements are being made to transfer the rest of the al-Houthi detainees from the Political Security Organization prison to the Al-Eslahia prison in Sadas in preparation for their release, Al-Sahwa website quoted local sources in Sadaa as saying.

However, a number of al-Houthi supporters claimed that they still dont know any thing about their 13 relatives, who were not among the prisoners released nor among those who died during the battles, the sources said. The release, the source added, comes as part of the implementation of the pardon announced by President Ali Abdullah Saleh. Last August Saleh had confirmed the pardon in an election rally in Sadaa province.

President Saleh called all the leaders of the al-Houthi rebellion to come back to their villages and to live like other citizens, promising to compensate all those affected by the war. Translating those promises into reality, the sources said, a large number of prisoners were released in three groups, the workers returned to their jobs and their salaries and dues were paid in full.
