almotamar.net Yemen news - An economic expert said that Yemen "is the strongest candidate to join the Gulf Cooperation Council".
The London-based Al-Hayyat newspaper published an article written by the economic expert, Jawad al-Ani, in which he said that "Yemen represents an important resource of work forces as well as a security and geopolitical dimension for Gulf States, particularly in the Red Sea and Bab Al-Mandab."
He pointed that the economic situation in Yemen remarkably improved.
In his article, al-Ani said that it would be difficult for Iraq to join GCC in near future due to the current situations in Iraq, according to al-Ani. But he said that the membership of Jordan would be a typical addition.
However, al-Ani said the GCC is suffering crucial problems that hamper its development and effectiveness.
