President Saleh will meet his American counterpart in the White House to discuss bilateral cooperation in addition to issues of common interest.

It is scheduled that the Yemeni American summit to deal with existing bilateral cooperation and horizons of strengthening it in political, economic, security, cultural, agricultural and trade areas. The summit is also to discuss means of deepening cooperation of the private sector in both countries and urging American businessmen and companies to invest in Yemen. The two presidents are also to review the successes that Yemen achieved in the deepening and consolidating the democratic pursuit, the economic and judicial reforms, and the local rule.

Member of the accompanying delegation Dr Abu Bakr al-Qirbi said among the issues on the summit agenda are discussion of developments of the situations in the regional arena especially the Arab Israeli conflict, the call of president Bush to adopt the Arab peace initiative as a basis for comprehensive and just solution in addition to the situations in Iraq, the crisis of Darfur in Sudan and the importance of finding a solution for it through dialogue between all parties.
