Almotamar.net - Yemen's Minister of Justice Dr Ghazi al-Aghbari called Wednesday on Yemeni lawyers to protect the profession values as they are considered among most important instruments of judiciary reforms process.
He said if there is defect in judiciary it is inevitable that behind each corrupt judge there is a corrupt lawyer and therefore, it is a must to upgrade legal profession and cleanse the judiciary power.
In his opening of the 5th conference of Yemeni Lawyers Union, the branch of Sana'a today the minister affirmed that his ministry was ready to close down any court where there is a corrupt judge, in case there was no alternative. The minister disclosed a deficit that Yemen suffers from in that there are no Yemeni lawyers capable of arguing international cases, saying "at the international level we are still lacking of international lawyers able to mater foreign languages."
The minister indicated that the ministry was ready to qualify lawyers in abroad and internal training courses in this regard in order to improve the standard of the profession.
The Chairman of the Lawyers Union, branch of Sana'a Abdullah Rajih had said in his address that the successes of the branch came as a result of efforts of all his colleagues for the laying of a slid base for professional and independent union.
