Almotamar.net - Yemen's minister of culture Dr Abu Bakr al-Maflahi on Monday said his ministry would give the cinema aspect a special attention as it is one of the most important cultural industries. He said the ministry is presently working in this area and to benefit from the qualified human energy at the ministry.

The culture minister said his ministry will confirm this orientation by holding the 1st Cinema Festival next year. The festival is expected to be attended by a host of Yemeni and Arab cinema men with the aim of activating the Yemeni cadres that received studies specialised in cinema work and to give them an opportunity to develop themselves and emerge in this field.

The minister said the festival will be organised every two years and each festival will last for five days. Festivals will include movies shows on documentary, feature and novel sides in addition to holding seminars and workshops related to cinema arts.
