Jamil Jaadabi Almotamar.net - Opposition political parties and organisations in Yemen on Tuesday strongly assailed the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP), a bloc of three opposition parties, accusing them of pursuing a haughty policy dismissing their counterpart opposition political p[arties present on the arena. The pointed out that the media campaign launched by the JMP against them and belittling the size of their entities after the achievement of positive results with the General People's Congress (GPC) ruling party expresses the JMP disrespect of partisan relations existing in the pluralist system.

In statements to almotamr.net leaders of a number of the opposition parties in Yemen were unanimous that the volume of the party should depend on its capability of offering thought and vision good for the homeland, and that is what the JMP did not comprehend. The parties of the JMP have adopted narrow interests in their dialogue with the GPC.

Those leaders asserted their determination to go ahead in dialogue with the GPC to discuss the constitutional amendments and that they have presented many visions on the amendments, pointing out they have discussed with transparency all the visions presented by political parties and organisations at the dialogue meetings.

Indicators of success of the dialogue between the GPC and more than 12 opposition political parties and organizations in their meetings in this month have aroused anger of the JMP bloc that responded in their media instruments with a campaign of ridiculing the sessions of dialogue with parties the JMP deem them as small and not parties and that they are close to the GPC.

Discussions were resumed Monday between the political parties and the GPC and all agreed to discuss the amendments of the election law and the amendments proposed on the law of political parties and organisations. The meeting also discussed proposals on the formation of the supreme commission for election and referendum and demanded commitments to the constitutional and legal texts and conditions of formation of the commission stipulating its independence and impartiality. The meeting discussed also the electoral system and offered visions towards it regarding the parliamentary, shoura and local elections.

The meeting agreed to discuss the law of political parties and organisations in their next meeting and agree in this regard to discuss the following:

-reconsideration of formation of the political parties and organisations,
-reconsideration of article 19 of the law concerning the financial support,
-defining aspects of financial support for the political parties and organisations activities regarding their conferences and engagement in general elections and,
-reconsideration of the 4th chapter of the law of political parties and organisations regarding financial revenues of the parties.
