Jamil Al-Jadabi Almotamar.net - Four days after sending officials of Sidda district and director of museums in the governorate of Ibb, in central Yemen, to interrogation over plundering acts of historical sites in the city of Sidda, official sources told almotamr.net Saturday operations of digging by unidentified gangs that trespassed over the past few days six historical sites nearby the historical Kahal Fortress in Nadira district of he same governorate.

In an urgent memorandum to the governor of Ibb the director general of the district Abdeh Darjan al-Qasimi asked the governor to urgently send an archaeological survey team to the area to assess the damage resulted from random sabotage digging in Kahal Fortress and the Shaqar historical area.

Al-Nadira district director general demanded in an exclusive statement to almotamar.net the concerned authorities in Ibb governorate to provide security protection necessary for protecting the historical sites against theft operations at hose sites of which he said that they were carried out by infiltrators at night in the few past days but the residents of the adjacent village had prevented them.

An official report prepared by a government committee visited the area on Friday affirmed that the area of Shaqar came under more than one random digging operations that deformed it.

The report mentioned that random digging operations have happened lately in six historical places at depths of 80-100 cm but length of pits differ from one site to another.

Report of the committee sent to the governor of Ibb, almotamar.net got a copy of it revealed that random digging operations in the historical area close to Kahal Fortress the existence of foundations of ancient buildings with traces of ash on one of them.

The report said the trespassed area of Shaqar historical site is about one km long and 80-100 metres wide. Compilers of the report noted that some buildings of Kahal village are built of the historical area stones and that was done for a long time ago.
