almotamar.net - Al-Mahweet, Yemen- Feb 8- Local sources in Mahweet governorate said Friday that a French archaeological team discovered Thursday a new archaeological site at the district of Bani Saad dating back to pre-history age by around one hundred years.

The sources told almotamar.net that the French team discovery of stone tools such as scrapers, knives and axes came after an archaeological survey trip continued for almost two years.

The sources pointed out that the local council secretary general in the governorate visited the discovered archaeological site and listened from the team to a detailed explanation on the stages that accompanied the operation of discovery of the site and stages of geological survey related to the Stone Age. The work has been done by a joint team from the Yemeni Antiquities Authority and the French team.
