The report, inaugurated Saturday in Aden governorate, the event of which was attended by representative of the UNICEF Abdu Karim Idjabawi, Ahmed Salem Rabie Ali, governor of Aden and a number of officials from Aden and Lahj, pointed out that half of the world countries have begun to move towards achieving the 4th goal of the millennium targets but many of the countries are still far from reaching that target and in need of speeding up to reach the target.

The report attributed the women and children victims in Yemen to negligence, harm and exploitation, also the malnutrition is reflected on raising rates of mortalities among children and mothers.

The report recommended the media for more pushing for giving bigger importance to the sensitive issues that shed their negative impact on the life of children and women.

Representative of the Higher Council for Maternity and Childhood Abdullah Ali al-Khamis pointed out the importance of the children's right to survival and growth which are considered one of the prominent principles of children rights agreement.

He added that Yemen has adopted a group of strategies and policies meant for effecting positive impact on the road of care, protection and development of childhood, among them the endeavor to reduction in the rate of population growth and improvement of services of reproductive health.

A workshop was also held on role of the media in children survival and was devoted to the role that the media should play towards children health and informing media people on how to tackle news related to publishing health information and crystallization the health policy aimed at conveying information for enlightenment of the citizen, the mother and the child.
