Almotamar Net - Deputy headmistress of 17 July Primary and Intermediate School for girls in the capital Sanaa Fawzia Abdeh said Tuesday that six girl students were injured in an explosion of two grenades thrown into the school courtyard which is situated next to the US embassy building this morning. A security source however said that four of the US security guards were also wounded while chasing members of the gunmen the number of whom were not mentioned by the security source. The deputy headmistress added in her statement to almotamar.net that unidentified persons hurled two hand grenades at the school courtyard and followed that with opening fire. Another deputy headmistress Hayat Yusuf told almotamar.net she had seen girl students injured in the explosion inside the school courtyard and they were taken to hospital.

On his part a security source told almotamar.net said most probably the incident is because of personal motives resulting from differences.

Some eyewitnesses said a man accompanied with others have thrown two hand grenades at the school yard that is situated in Saawan residential area.
