Almotamar.net - The number of pieces of weapons seized by security authorities amounted at 126365 different types of weapon pieces within 9 moths, which is the period since the Yemeni authorities started the implementation of the decision of prohibiting the carrying of arms inside the provincial capitals on 28 of August 2007.
A source at the office of the Defence Undersecretary for security affairs told almotamar.net Sunday that 3300 pieces of arms were seized inside the cities since the beginning of carrying out of the campaign until Saturday. He indicated that 1263o65 pieces were seized at the entrances of the cities during the same period.
The source said the security authorities are still, with a high efficiency, carrying out the campaign of prohibiting carrying of weapons inside the cities, considering cooperation of the citizens and support of the civil society organisations for the decision of preventing the carrying of weapons gave the operation am important national dimension that made the issue of controlling weapons and ending the armed phenomena a question of interest for the entire homeland.
