Almotamar.net - Chairman of the Rights and Freedoms Parliamentary Committee Sheikh Mohammed Bin Naji al-Shaef considered Friday that the parliament suspension discussion on the draft amendment of the general elections and referendum law as not legal and violating the parliament rules and regulations.

Al-Shaef affirmed there isn't any law stipulation of suspending discussion or consideration of any draft presented to the parliament. He said," Suspension the draft amendments of the elections law after it has been studied by a joint committee and inclusion of the speaker's suggestions in the draft, is considered a clear legal violation. "

In his statement to Al-Jumhuriya newspaper the MP mentioned the parliament should have gone ahead ion discussing and approval of the draft instead of conceding to the desire of parties under excuse of political accord in the democratic action. He added if the parliament has any remarks on the draft or proposals for addition and enrichment, it should be returned to the specialised committees and not necessarily suspended.
