Almotamar.net - Yemen Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research Dr Saleh Ali Basura and the Algerian Minister of National Education Bubakr Buzaid discussed in Algiers Sunday ways of enhancing academic education cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting discussed a draft cooperation agreement to be signed by the two countries in the field of education as part of the meetings of the Yemeni-Algerian Joint Committee, mechanisms of activating and implementing signed agreements in addition to benefiting from the Algerian experiment in fighting extremism and terror among youth.

Minister Basura praised the distinguished relations between the two peoples in different areas, affirming Yemen's keenness on strengthening them.
The Minister also met president of Algiers University Dr Tahir Hijaz with whom he discussed ways of enhancing cooperation between Algiers University and Yemeni universities. Such cooperation can be through exchange of visits the teaching staffs, oorganisation of joint scientific activities and conferences, exchange of expertise in academic and administrative fields and conducting of joint scientific studies and researches. President of Algiers University presented to the Yemeni minister explanation on the university, the number of students and departments and specializations. He also talked about the areas of cooperation that can be established with Yemeni universities.

It is scheduled that the ninth session of the Yemeni-Algerian Joint Committee is to begin under co-chairmanship of the Ministers of Higher Education in the two countries, Saleh Basura and Rashid Jarawbieh.
