Almotamar Net - Chairwoman of the Yemen women Union Eamziya al-Eryany described the stand of Yemeni political parties concerning the issue of the woman participation in political life as a clearest image of political hypocrisy. She said, "We found out through the previous elections that the political parties as two-faced, and say in reverse of what they practice and appear only at elections seasons and a day before elections they disavow their promises. Such behaviour embodies the clearest picture of political hypocrisy. Nevertheless al-Eryany is expressing the women hope that the upcoming parliamentary elections would witness participation of the woman in the light of the election platform of president of the republic that stresses on empowering the woman politically and economically with a proportion of 15% in the state sectors.

She indicated that the Yemen Women Union has presented suggestions on the draft constitutional amendments that included more than 26 articles containing the addition of some definitions that were understood by men only.

In an interview to almotamar.net al-Eryany considered the proposals presented by the union as aimed at removing difference after the constitution as it is a legal due drawn up for a long time period and upon it systems and regulations are built as well as the laws.
