Almotamar.net - The General People's Congress (GPC) on Monday congratulated the Yemeni people inside and outside and its political leadership, forces and organizations on the advent of Ramadan fasting month.

In its statement on the occasion the General Secretariat said it finds this religious occasion an opportunity to remind all of the importance and necessity for the embodiment of values and principles represented by performing the fasting rite in Ramadan particularly the values forgiveness, fraternity and discarding of exaggeration, extremism and hatred among the people of the same homeland and the one religion.

The GPC General Secretariat also affirmed that fasting embodies the ideological, spiritual and faith unity among the sons of the nation through their unification in performing fasting in one month. The statement also urged scholars and guides to play their religious role in consolidation of the values of the Islamic religion based on dissemination of the culture of tolerance and peace and love and the discard of the culture of sectarian fanaticism, regionalism and secessionism.
