Almotamar.net, Agencies - The French ambassador to Yemen Gills Gauthier said Wednesday the Yemeni French relations have witnessed noticeable developments especially after London donor conference. He affirmed those old relations are developing year by year towards the best.

Ambassador Gauthier also praised Yemen's efforts in fighting terror, pointing out that fighting terror is not an easy work as a small number of terrorists causes huge problems and negatively affects aspects of investment and development.

The French ambassador's praise of Yemen's efforts in combating terror coincides with beginning of joint military trainings by Yemeni Coast Guard force3s and French military vessels that are present in the Yemeni regional waters.

An official source in Gulf of Aden sector of the Coast Guard mentioned the 15-day trainings would test readiness of navy forces, interception of ships and fighting sea piracy that lately spread in the Horn of Africa region and securing the sea safety in international routes. The Yemeni Coast Guard participation in those trainings comes as part of the Yemeni French military cooperation and the two countries' efforts in fighting terror and piracy as well as within ensuring security and stability in the sea international waterways.

The French ambassador has also renewed the announcement of an expected visit of the French President to yarn in the first quarter of 2009.
