Almotamar.net - Executive Director of the International Foundation for election systems (IFES) in Yemen Peter Williams said Monday that technical preparations carried out by the Supreme Commission for Elections and Referendum (SCER) to implement the phase of revising tables of voters are object of satisfaction , describing what the SCER has done in the simple past period as " very excellent".

After getting acquainted on Sunday with the technical preparations of the commission regarding carrying out the phase of revising and amending voter tables Mr Williams said to almotamar.net that the preparations were good and the commission has worked seriously during the month of Ramadan and the days of Eid and added the taking into consideration the critical situation that the commission came under due to the political differences.

He said the important thing is that all Yemeni parties have to work together for securing the success of electoral committees and to be assured democracy in Yemen is developing and improving,

On whether the absence of three of the SCER members would affect in delaying the accomplishment of the SCER tasks in its preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections the director of IFES said he believe that the SCER is carrying out good job concerning preparations for the elections, he stressed the necessity that members of the commission to remember that they are in the leadership but those who implement the tasks and finishing work are the employees.

Mr Williams also said the preparations are done according to the law and regulations and directions in Yemen and concerning international criteria he indicated to presence of space for improvements and developments and said Yemen is considered advanced compared to other countries.
