Almotamar Net - The Centre for Childhood and Youth Development announced its support for Yemens candidacy of Dr Nafisah al-Jaifi for occupying the post of membership of the UN Committee for Child Rights. The nomination was out of its conviction of Yemens pioneering role in following up the agreement on child rights and the optional protocols annexed to it. The nomination was out of its conviction of Yemen's pioneering role in following up the agreement on child rights and the optional protocols annexed to it.

In a press release obtained by almotamar.net the Centre affirmed its support for the nomination in evaluation of the efforts exerted by Dr Nafisa by her leadership of the Higher Council for paternity and childhood so that to develop situations of children in Yemen. Among the prominent of those efforts is the approval of the on child tights and following up approval of its amendments as well as the endeavour to include the child rights in the legislations concerned with childhood in Yemen.

The executive director of the Centre for childhood and youth development Abdulrahman Ahmed Abdeh said the Centre would hold communication with Arab and international organisations concerned about child rights for supporting this nomination.
The Centre called on civil society organisations in Yemen, the Arab countries and all supporters of the child rights and human rights holding permanent or consultancy title in the economic and social Council of the UN to intensify their communication to support the nomination of Yemen of Dr al-Ja'ifi in enhancement of the Arab participation in the child rights committee in order to back up issues of the child in the Arab world.
